We maintain and record data from 25 wind monitoring stations throughout the City of San Francisco and in outlying areas where the City may develop renewable energy projects. These stations measure wind speed and direction to more fully understand the urban wind potential in San Francisco. Additionally, these stations monitor the solar resources for the area as well.
The data collected from these stations reflect measurements taken starting in the spring of 2009. Please visit dataSF.org. Users can download our up-to-date wind resource data, by simply entering "wind monitoring" into the site search bar.
